Is it slander for your landlord to tell your neighbors and friends you didn't pay the rent?

My landlord refuses to make major repairs so I have not paid this months rent as advised by a lawyer. She is telling my neighbors and friends I am whining about repairs and nor paying rent...Is this slander?
