if your cd is scratch or some how damage it can prevent you from loading files, you can also make a copy of your old drive to your new one and you dont have to istall new windows you can use your old windows xp on your new drive.here is a free software you can use to make a copy of your old drive to your new one (acronis migrate easy trial 7.0) GOOD LUCK
