DEAR JOHN by Nicholas Sparks?

Ok I'm only on page 70 right now, and so far, i love it! The only thing I don't like about it, is how John seems attracted to Savannah because of how she looks..? Like something about their early love seems infatuated to me. If you've read this book, do you agree with me?
