Which type of minor scale has two forms...?
Melodic ascending is a major scale with a minor third or a minor scale with a major seventh and major sixth (same thing) and decending is the natural minor scale. Us composers like the leading tone so we (we as in some medevial or reinance composer a long time ago) added it to the minor scale making the harmonic minor scale, but the W+H leap between the sixth and the seventh bugs us with melodies so a long long time ago the sharped the sixth and the melodic minor was born, but going backwards it sounds to major going backwards so now it's natural minor going backwards (you use the leading tone if you are going to the tonic with melodies but the minor seventh going to any other note usally and the major sixth going to the leading tone)
