Why are there so many protestant denominations?

I don't understand. A lot of them (Baptist, Presbyterian, Evangelical, Pentecostal, Wesleyan, etc.) agree that you have to be born again to be saved, yet they do not combine their denominations to form a UNITED body of Christ. What's up with all these divisions?
